A disposable single patient use ETT cuff pressure manometer
The PYLANT MONITOR is a disposable, single patient use endotracheal tube (ETT) cuff pressure manometer. ETT cuff manometers are used to indicate the pressure within the ETT cuff to prevent inadvertent over or under inflation of the ETT cuff. The practitioner or institutional guidelines determine the exact inflation pressure used. Literature on ETT cuff pressures suggest that pressures between 20 cm H2O and 30 cm H2O are preferred to prevent under and over inflation. The Pylant Monitor is MRI Compatible.
The PYLANT MONITOR is used by personnel trained in pulmonary resuscitation and airway management (ex. anesthesiologists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, emergency medical technicians, paramedics) and is used to measure the cuff pressure of an endotracheal tube or tracheotomy tube. The device is designed to be used in any patient environment where an endotracheal tube or tracheotomy tube is inserted or maintained. Example are acute care hospitals, emergency dispatch, operating rooms, intensive care units, patient care floors, emergency intubation box, chronic care institutions, skilled nursing facilities, inside EMS advanced life support units, and ground and air ambulances. The Pylant Monitor is inexpensive, single patient use, disposable, and compact enough for easy stowing. The Pylant Monitor eliminates the need to estimate ETT cuff pressures or waiting prolonged times for the availability of a cuff pressure measuring device.
The PYLANT MONITOR is the only disposable, single use device on the market for measuring ETT and trach tube cuff pressures. We monitor BP, intracranial pressures, abdominal pressures, PCWP, CVP, what about ETT cuff pressure? Safe endotracheal cuff pressures require measurement and intervention.
